Connect Pro Afrique in Toumbokro for the Closing Ceremony of the Ivorian–Dutch Horticultural Excellence Center Moyé

As the co‑founder of Connect Pro Afrique, I had the honor of traveling to Toumbokro, in the autonomous district of Yamoussoukro—the emblematic city home to the majestic Basilica of Our Lady of Peace—to attend the closing ceremony of the Ivorian–Dutch Horticultural Excellence Center Moyé, marking the graduation of its second cohort.

Invited by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Côte d’Ivoire, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Ben Kubbinga, LVVN Agricultural Advisor for Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, for extending this invitation.

My appreciation also goes to Mr. Harry Viderot, Country Director Benin and Senior Project Coordinator – Resilience BV, as well as to the team of trainers and students for their warm welcome.

The ceremony took place in the presence of the representative of the Minister‑Governor of the Yamoussoukro District, Augustin Thiam, the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Côte d’Ivoire, and the Dutch partners of the project:

  • Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)

  • Mr. Joep Van der Broek, Director RESILIENCE

  • Bakker Brothers

  • Wageningen University & Research

  • Enza Zaden

  • East-West Seed

  • ASFA

  • Mr. Herman, Director FIDA

  • And many other partners…

Held from June 23 to 25, 2026, the event celebrated young talents who embody the future of horticulture in Côte d’Ivoire. It was a meaningful and inspiring experience, filled with emotion, forward‑looking perspectives, and strong commitments to the development of the horticultural sector in the country.

A moment of hope, purpose, and renewed ambition for the entire horticultural ecosystem.
